You see a celebrity with a glamorous hairstyle and think that’s the one for you. Or is it? You see the most flattering hairstyle is unlikely to be the one that’s the hit of the red carpet scene. Actually it would be the one that best compliments your face shape. By knowing what shape face you have you can simplify the process of choosing an appropriate hairstyle. Let’s see how you can do so and then what to do next.

First you need to know what type of face you have. If you don’t know then stand facing a mirror. Clip your hair back off your forehead. Then with the help of a lipstick draw the outline of your face on the mirror. This should give you a good idea.

If it appears to be more of an oval then lucky you. Any hairstyle will work as an oval face is quite versatile.

In this case one of the best approaches is to ask for layers near your cheekbones, lips or chin. Such cuts will help set off your facial features. The length of the layers depends on which feature you wish to accentuate. However you want to avoid short layers typically cut in to add volume to the crown of your head.

If your face is heart shaped then you want cuts that will help balance your wider forehead and narrower chin. Typically those would be styles that offer more fullness at your jaw line. So something like a shoulder skimming shag would be good as the long layers of such a cut de-emphasize your chin.

Another idea would be side swept bangs that minimize your forehead while putting emphasis on your eyes – as bangs usually do.

If the lipstick outline says it is round face you’ve got then the goal is to create a slimmer one. You do that with layers, choppy bangs, geometric cuts and angled layers. Remember too offer center parts are best for you.

If you have a square face you want to strive to soften the jaw line. Achieve that with cuts that de emphasize the square-ness. Things like graduated layers, long bangs and loose ringlets help with that. In your case either an off center or center part helps to blur the edges of your face.

Those with long faces should gravitate towards styles that develop the illusion of width. Those would include most of the bobs and any of the chin length styles. To be avoided are any extremes to the long or short side.

In any case this admittedly brief overview should leave you with a better understanding of the role your face shape plays in the hair style selection process. Keep these ideas in mind and you’ll walk out transformed – in a good way.

Now is the perfect time to think about changing your hairstyle. And the perfect site to help with that is FullerHeadofHair.com. There you’ll find helpful advice about all sorts of topics from cute haircuts with bangs to alluring chin length haircuts to new hair color ideas that can make your hair glamorous, sexier or just easier to manage.

We all look forward to the carefree days of summer, right? But we don’t look forward to the shine thieves that come with it. UV rays, sweltering heat and one humid day after another can leave you with hair that is frizzy, dull and bone dry. Here’s how to keep the glorious gloss shining through.

Shield Hair From UV Rays: Everyone should realize by now how hard on your hair ultraviolet rays can be. Unless you become friends with your hats or use a protective spray of some kind, you can end up with a head full of dull, brittle strands. Not to mention what sunlight can do to your summer hair color. And we won’t even think about ending up with a scalp burn that can lead to the dreaded bald patch.

Rinse Away Chlorine and Salt: Build up of either isn’t good. Besides too much chlorine can leave blondes with slightly green tinted hair. One approach is to never dive in with dry hair since it will act like a sponge and absorb ocean water. The next tip would be to rinse your hair when returning from a day at the pool. Finally you want to use a clarifying shampoo weekly.

Double Duty Shades: When at a picnic have your shades do double duty. Not only can you wear them you can use them as a headband to hold your hair in place during volley ball.

Condition Condition Condition: Months of being cooped up inside can leave your hair dehydrated. Prep it for summer with a deep conditioning routine that lays on the moisture. Then keep conditioning like crazy. Focusing on ends and the hair that’s three inches and further away from your scalp. Doing so will help seal in moisture and help keep the sun from drying out your locks.

Frizz Beating Tip: Apply a pomade on dry hair keep the frizz away.

Not the Time to be Coloring: The chemicals in the color make your hair even more vulnerable to the sun by making your precious locks more porous and susceptible UV damage. So try to avoid perms or color treatments in summer. If you are desperate to dye then use a somewhat darker color. It will take longer to fade. And don’t forget the gloss which can extend your new found color by to 2-3 weeks too.

Hopefully these expert tips will begin to make it easy for you to make it through the steamy season in style. Without suffering a hair calamity that you’ll spend weeks recovering from.

Did the image you glimpsed in the mirror this morning make you wish for a magic wand? Are you looking for beauty tips that are more than just slap on the make-up and smile? Let’s see if we can’t get away from slathering to taking a slightly more scientific approach.

The More Moisturizing Cream You Apply The Better Hydrated Your Skin. You know better. Too much of anything is bad. The same applies to an overdose of thick cream. Too much traps dead cells making your skin look duller. It is best to apply serum under creams which can boost the moisture in your skin while aiding absorption.

Use Foundation All Over Your Face To Get A Smooth Looking Complexion. This is half true. Yes foundation can even out skin tones but you don’t want to go near your forehead with the stuff. It will only accumulate in any lines you’ve got lurking there. This can make you look tired and old. It’s also better to use more of a sheer foundation with a concealer for specific blemishes than reaching for the jar of industrial-strength stuff.

Wearing Nail Polish Means Living with Yellow Nails. Yellow nails are no reason to panic. But you may end up with yellowing if you fore-go a protective clear base coat. Because nail polish, especially darker colors over extended periods of time, can leave your nails with a slight yellowish cast to them. That stain’s not permanent and will go away over time if you stop with the polish. Or get religious about base coating.

Addicted To Lip Balm? Those looking to avoid chapped lips reach for the wrong lip balm too often. Mineral oil based balms coat your lips with a film that results in your lips producing fewer lush lipids. While flavored balm can dry out your lips too. If you want juicy, plumped lips that look ready to be kissed stick with lip balms that have shea or cocoa butter in them.

Minimize The Appearance Of Stretch Marks Using Vitamin D. This isn’t the case unfortunately. Vitamin D will not help reduce the appearance of your unsightly stretch marks. Some do report fading is possible over time by applying cocoa butter daily. While for immediate relief spray-on tanning products might camouflage them.

Deadly Dull Dry Hair Got You Down? Glorious glossy tresses start with healthy hair. And proper conditioning it is the way to keep your locks looking their lustrous best. Otherwise you’re dooming your hair to excessive breakage, dryness and dullness. Too many bestow too much TLC thinking that all the treatments are good for their hair. They aren’t. Over-treated hair is often dull, flat and lifeless.

Granted every now and again who among us hasn’t let our beauty routine slide just a bit. Easy to do. But if things have gotten to the red alert stage then see if tips like these can help to make things right again.

If you found these beauty tips helpful maybe you would like answers for your questions about medium razored layered haircuts, hair cuts with bangs, or just pick up some hair coloring advice or chic hair color ideas. If so the helpful site FullerHeadofHair.com has the tips, smart advice and resources you’re looking for.

Question: Help! I've been thinking of coloring my hair here at home. Yet I'm not sure I know how to begin.

Question: Help! I’ve been thinking of coloring my hair here at home. Yet I’m not sure I know how to begin.

Okay well, while DIY hair coloring isn’t exactly fool proof, you can come close to that. For sure you can avoid creating a big mess that will pinch your wallet plenty as you have your mistakes fixed by a professional colorist. Here’s some ideas.

Before You Color: How committed do you plan to be to a color? In other words do you want it to last weeks, months or can you live with it longer? As in much longer. Once you decide simply pick the box of coloring based on that comfort level.

Color Please? Are you seeking a dramatic change? Or looking to recapture the color you had in second grade? Leave the dramatics to the pros. But a shade shift of a couple degrees lighter or darker is something you should be able to pull off on your own.

Condition First Color Second: Don’t even think about coloring your hair without conditioning it first. Doing so insures a better dye job since the pigment will take better. Reason being deep conditioning repairs damaged tresses. Plus you’re also protecting your locks from the chemicals required to color your hair in the first place.

Ooops Too Dark: If your color slipped to the dark side on you can try stripping off some of the color by using dishwashing liquid followed by an olive oil conditioning. Then shampoo out the oil using your favorite shampoo until it is completely gone.

Dye Disaster? If your blonde hair ended up with green cast to it reach for the tomato juice rather than a hat. You want to soak your strands in the stuff for like half an hour. Then rinse. Or say you left the color in too long and things came out with a noticeable orange tinge. In that case call the 800 number on the side of the box to get a non permanent color with blue undertones to help calm down the orange affect.

Extend the Life of the Color: Easily done. Simply lather up with warm rather than hot water. The color will last like up to 20% longer. Told you it was easy.

It really is easier than you might have imagined to be your own colorist. But you do have to pay attention to details. Otherwise you may end up with a dye disaster that can do serious harm to those lovely tresses of yours.

Do not forget to check out other articles on things like hair styles for thinning hair to the best way to care for a shag haircut.
You're part of the hair coloring sisterhood right? I know, who isn't? But is it me or does the color seem to fade too quickly? Not to mention all the time, hassle and expense of those never ending touch ups.

You’re part of the hair coloring sisterhood right? I know, who isn’t? But is it me or does the color seem to fade too quickly? Not to mention all the time, hassle and expense of those never ending touch ups.

Do you find repeat trips every – you can fill in how often – to deal with color concerns taking a toll on your beauty budget?. Not to mention the time commitment. Well then, how about if there was a way to maintain your color’s richness and vibrancy without so many follow up salon visits?

Some would say your wish has come true in the form of color depositing shampoos that are available in most any shade you can imagine.

So how would you describe color depositing shampoo?

It’s a product that can help you maintain and protect color treated hair. This product is designed to avoid the color fading you notice when using regular shampoos. As well it’s a way to impart rich tones too.

So to avoid this rinsing away of color why not wash your hair with color depositing shampoo meant for your specific color. The result will be your colored hair, highlights, streaks will retain the color better for longer.

And for how to use it, not much to it really. Just use like you would any other shampoo.

Just so you realize any color enhancement is going to be fleeting at best. Think of it like mixing some temporary coloring into your regular shampoo. Doing that would deposit color on your strands not getting penetration into the cuticle. This way no damage can be done. But nothing permanent has changed either.

Now when purchasing these some would advise you stick with salon based brands. Those products your find at the drug store, although cheaper, well, some can make your hair dry and brittle Also while salon brands may put a bigger dent in your wallet initially they generally tend to be of higher quality. And since you use less they last longer than drugstore brands too. Guess you get what you pay for.

So with all these apparent advantages what about disadvantages? As you’d expect these too have their drawbacks, right?

Okay well guess I should alert you that some color depositing come up short in the lather department. But that doesn’t mean it’s not cleaning however.

Obviously they cannot fix a bad color job. But I’d hope you wouldn’t expect them to.

Being a color depositing product it can stain towels, tubs and bathroom walls too. So use with caution.

If your hair is chemically straightened, damaged or permed then your hair will tend to pick more color than hair not so treated.

Now it pays to study the color charts to make sure you’re getting the product that’s right for your hair color before deciding.

Also some find it best to mix this type of shampoo in with what they usually use to lather up if they’ve got hair light in color or that has only been highlighted.

Finally for everyday use you might want to go with a color enhancing rather than color depositing shampoo. Enhancing shampoos are formulated with additives and shine enhancers that will make your color appear to be brighter.

For sure you now have an option when it comes to maintaining that fresh new color you’re so proud of, right?
